MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Dana Maria Cilento
Dana started practicing yoga in 1999, shortly after her first son was born. Realizing instinctively that the only way she could be the steward of another soul, she understood the necessity of first being connected to her own. Knowing how at some point every child will be able to see clearly and directly into the heart of his parents, she wanted to make sure that when Lucas looked into hers, what he saw was clean, and all these years later, this intention remains the same. Becoming certified to teach through The Open Center in NYC in 2002, her unique method of imparting the philosophy of Yoga, combined with an amalgam of esoteric, spiritual and metaphysical concepts has been the foundation of her teaching. In 2011 she completed the Advanced Yoga teacher training through Yogamaya New York. A longtime Vedic Meditation practitioner, she offers meditation classes and offers recorded Guided meditation recordings as a complement to the Yogasana. Over time as her teaching modalities have expanded, she has included chanting and music to her classes and has created spiritual workshops and a yearly retreat in Tuscany, Italy to bring her offerings “off the mat”. A beloved student suggested that adding her dharmic interpretations to ceremonies would be a natural next step, in 2013 she became a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and Minister with the Universal Brotherhood.
